Ready for a Healthful and Tasty Summer Picnic?

A summer picnic is a great way to entertain and see friends and family.  But all too often we end our day in the sun way to full and wondering if we ate food that is good for us.  But it doesn't need to be that way. Next time you pack for a picnic - think tasty AND healthful.  Here are a few ideas to get you started:

A veggie platter with the latest in season veggies and a zesty vinaigrette based dip can be a great way to start the picnic. Build your own or you can pick up a veggie platter at your local health food grocery mart - my favorite is Whole Foods.

Farro_herb_recipe   Then on to more yummy treats - why not include a side dish that is made with a healthy grain - organic quinoa or farro come to mind.

For dessert - how about a fruit platter...and for those with a sweet tooth bring a chocolate, caramel dipping sauce or raw wild honey (my preference).
